Athina Mouratidou

Athina Mouradidou is an assistant professor in the Department of Organizational Management, Marketing and Tourism of International University of Greece (former Department of Business Administration with Direction of Management of Tourism and Hospitality Businesses, ATEI Thessaloniki) with scientific specialization in Cultural Heritage, Sports and Tourism. She has a Master’s Degree in Social Anthropology & History; she is a graduate of the School of Guides (Greek Organization for Tourism) of Thessaloniki, as well as a graduate of the Department of Physical Education of Aristotle University (specializing in Winter Sports and Traditional Dances); she has also obtained a degree from the Pedagogical Academy of Thessaloniki.

In terms of professional experience in the field of Tourism, Ms Mouratidou has worked for a number of years as a tour guide (since 1993) and as a teacher of special courses since 1990 at the Alexandrio Technological Educational Institution. Her courses are aimed at both Greek and Erasmus students of the University and are related to her field of study. Also, she was a lecturer in the Accelerated Training Programs in the Profession of Guide, implemented by the University of Macedonia under the auspices of the Ministry of Education (Larissa, April-June 2016 & Serres, December 2016-February 2017). She was the coordinator of the incoming Erasmus student program in 2018 and 2019. She is a PhD candidate at the University of Macedonia.

Her scientific and research interests include issues about Tourism and Education, History and Culture in relation to Tourism, Sports Tourism, creative use of Leisure.

She has organized sporting and cultural events at the University, she organizes and leads educational excursions, while she offers volunteer work as a tour guide for the staff (administrative and faculty) of the university as well as other public and private entities.
