PHILOXENIA is the annual tourism exhibition that outlines the profile of the tourism business in the country. It is organized every November at the International Exhibition & Conference Center of Thessaloniki and constitutes a very strong meeting point of the tourism in Greece. The three-day tourism event is attended by companies and organizations from all over the tourism spectrum (Greek and international tourist destinations, hotels, travel agencies, travel agents, specialized press and media), as well as by selected invited buyers – hosted buyers – from the target countries for the industry.

Traditionally, the Department of Organisation Management, Marketing and Tourism participates in this mega tourism event with interesting thematic presentations, workshops, and targeted conference events. The Department’s conference for Philoxenia 2022 focused on “Accessible Tourism” and brought together people with partial or total blindness, people with moving disabilities and tourism journalists with travel agencies and tourism policy makers to design the education that department’s graduates need to have to make tourism accessible for everybody.
