INTERSMARTS International Conference in Istanbul to AdvanceSustainable Tourism and Blue Growth in the Black Sea Basin (13November 2025)

Istanbul, Türkiye — The INTERSMARTS project (BSB00332) will host the
international conference “Advencing Sustainable Tourism and Blue
Growth in the Black Sea Basin” on 13 November 2025 at DotsHub
(Yıldız), Beşiktaş, Istanbul.
The conference will bring together public authorities, academia, tourism
businesses, innovators and development stakeholders to exchange practical
approaches that strengthen smart, sustainable tourism and blue growth
across the Black Sea Basin, through cross-border cooperation and innovation.
Programme highlights include:
 Opening remarks on the role of collaboration and networking for
sustainable tourism development, with contributions from project
partners and institutional representatives.
 Presentation of the INTERSMARTS Network and the INTERSMARTS
Platform, showcasing tools and collaborations that support innovation
uptake in tourism services.
 A panel on Leveraging EU and International Funds to Advance
Sustainable Tourism, focusing on financing opportunities and
implementation perspectives.
 Keynote address: “Balancing Growth and Environmental
Responsibility through Zero-Waste Management” by Fani
Efthymiadou (Boğaziçi University).
 Sessions on startup-driven sustainability, multi-stakeholder
collaboration, and best-practice cases from INTERSMARTS partner
countries.
Participation
Participation is open to stakeholders interested in sustainable tourism,
innovation, and blue economy development in the Black Sea Basin.
