Ms. Vasiliki Kefalidou is an Academic Scholar in the Department of Organization Management, Marketing and Tourism of the International University of Greece. She is a graduate of the Tourism Business Department of TEI Thessaloniki, School of Management and Economics, holder of a Master’s degree in “Tourism Business Management”, Hellenic Open University.
She worked in the private sector in the positions of Sales Director of Greece and Cyprus, for the airlines Air Berlin (2012-2016, member of Etihad Group), Czech Airlines (2007-2010), Supervisor, Ticketing offices, Airport Check-in procedures, Sales Department N. Greece for airlines Alitalia (1998 – 2002), Azzurra (2002 -2004), SAS Scandinavian (2005-2006), Tarom and Sales Consultant for the GSA airlines representative company Discover the World. Her first years of work in the field of tourism business were in the travel agencies Arion Tours and Splendid Travel Center in the departments of issuing air and ferry tickets and in the departments of organizing individual packages and group tours.
She participated in the teaching of numerous seminars and holds a large number of certifications from the companies she worked with, members of IATA, regarding airline management, airport service, sales management and marketing. From 2005 to 2018, she was a laboratory associate at ATEI Thessaloniki in the School of Management and Economics in the Department of Tourism Business Management, teaching the courses: “Tourist Package Composition”, “Travel Planning”, “Tourist Transportation Businesses”, “Airfares”, ” Management of Travel Organizations and Agencies”, “Distribution Channels in Tourism”.
Through her teaching, she conveys to the students’ knowledge acquired through her many years of work experience. Her research focuses on aviation management and development.
