The International Hellenic University (IHU) plays an active role in the INTERSMARTS project (BSB00332), co-funded by the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme, which promotes smart and sustainable tourism and blue growth services in the Black Sea region.
Within this framework, IHU operates as a Networking contact point in Greece, acting as a focal point for connection, information, and support to stakeholders from the tourism industry, local authorities, academia, and civil society.
Role and objectives
- Connecting stakeholders across Greece and the Black Sea Basin.
- Providing information and guidance on project activities and results.
- Supporting innovation in tackling key challenges (overdevelopment, pollution, seasonality, low innovation uptake).
- Empowering local communities through workshops, pilot actions, and knowledge exchange.
IHU’s Networking Hub acts as a catalyst for cooperation, ensuring that the solutions developed under INTERSMARTS deliver long-term impact in terms of sustainability, innovation, and blue growth.
