The Department of Organization, Management, Marketing and Tourism of
the International Hellenic University successfully delivered the
INTERSMARTS Network Expansion Event on 20 November 2025 in
Thessaloniki (45 Vasileos Irakleiou Street).
Under the theme “Innovation and Sustainable Transition in the Tourism
Industry” and with a focus on “The Case of the INTERSMARTS Platform”,
the event brought together stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and
explore practical, innovation-driven pathways towards more sustainable
tourism.
Main outcomes
The programme featured:
Mentoring sessions with SMEs, public authorities, researchers, and
NGOs
Interactive workshops, peer-to-peer learning, and group discussions
Exchange of experiences and best practices from Black Sea partner
countries
Co-creation approaches for the development of innovative solutions
Insights on practical tools and digital innovations supporting
sustainable tourism
Enhanced networking and cross-border collaboration opportunities
The event concluded with key takeaways on how collaborative networks and
digital platforms can accelerate the sustainable transition of tourism services
in the region.
